GTR-101: Introduction To the Art of Playing Guitar

Instructor: Conway Rowe, B.S. Education, Marywood College

 

This free, four-session, hands-on, mini-course is intended for the non-guitar player.  Topics covered include music notation, right and left hand technique, melody playing, and chord progressions.

If you have taken even one or two private guitar lessons, this course is probably not for you.  Gallucci Music offers master classes and private lessons for the intermediate and advanced player.  Please call or e-mail for more information regarding GTR-101, master classes, and private lessons.

Introduction to Music Theory

Instructor: Matthew Mang, B.A. Music Education, Marywood University

 

This course is comprised of 4 one hour classes. Intro to Music Theory covers basic concepts and terms needed by the music student. It is intended for students ages 9 to adult with no background (or very little) in music theory.

Concepts covered include common notation terminology, intervals, major and minor keys and scales, triads, and chord construction.  

Intro to Music Theory is open to anyone wishing to enhance their understanding of the language we use as musicians. The course is free to all students currently enrolled in private lessons at Gallucci Music. This series of classes is also open to the community. The cost for non-students is $10 per class.

 Attendance to each class is not required.  Choose the classes that you feel would benefit your studies.
